Brown 2001 16hh Zabeel – Savannah Success by Success Express
2010 fee $20,000 +gst

With his first crop only three-year-olds, Savabeel already has four individual stakes winners to his credit from 35 individual winners.

He has sired My Emotion in his first crop, winner on debut of the Group Three VRC
Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes at Flemington at two and training on to win the Group Two Fillies’ Classic, 1600m, at Moonee Valley at three.

Another potential topliner stood up at the 2010 Sydney autumn carnival when the Bart
Cummings-trained juvenile colt Kudakulari (out of an O’Reilly mare) triumphed in the Listed AJC Fernhill Handicap, 1600m. He looks a strong Spring classic contender.

Savabeel lost a genuine stakes performer when the career of leading spring three-year-old Warrentherooster was tragically cut short.

On the racetrack, three weeks after defeating his peers in the Group One AJC Spring Champion Stakes, Savabeel won the career-defining WFA championship, the Group One WS Cox Plate, joining Octagonal, Red Anchor and Surround as the only three-year-olds to do so in 30 years.

At stud, Savabeel has covered an average of 125 mares each season.

This year, six-figure Savabeel yearlings were purchased by leading Melbourne trainer
Peter Moody, successful Sydney owner Jason Abrahams, Tony Pike, Graeme and Debbie Rogerson, with a top price of $170,000.
