17 th & 18th July 2010
It as great to see evergreen galloper Waikato back in the winners circle in the Group 3 Saas Fee at Kranji last Sunday. it was the 15th win for the seven-year-old son of Pins, taking the Group 1 winner's prizemoney close to S$2 million.

Scaredee Cat keeps producing winners from limited numbers and had a double for the week. Cangowest recorded a dominant win at Waimate then three-year-old filly Repertoire could not have been more impressive winning at Awapuni last Saturday. Both have promising futures.

In the Listed Northland Breeders Stakes at Ruakaka this Saturday, Savabeel will be aiming for his second successive win in the race - Queen Sabeel won the race last year. Savabeel will be represented by Savvy Dancer, who was second at his only start. His opposition includes O'Reilly fillies Patsy O'Reilly and WS bred Needly.

SAVVY DANCER Listed Ruakaka 1:52pm (Sat)
PATSY O'REILLY Listed Ruakaka 1:52pm (Sat)
NEEDLY Listed Ruakaka 1:52pm (Sat)

It's evident that spring is just around the corner with the running of the Listed Sir John Monash Stakes at Caulfield. The WS brand will be carried by well bred Pins entire Keano, who will be very hard to beat.

KEANO Listed Caulfield 5:07pm (Sat)

In Sydney, WS bred O'Crikey runs in the Listed Winter Stakes at Rosehill. The son of O'Reilly and Centaine mare Ungaro is sure to go forward and will give his backers a good sight for a long way!

O'CRIKEY Listed Rosehill 5:25pm (Sat)

MARK'S MAIL

Two horses to follow from the Waverley meeting today - Lady Kipling (Savabeel) and The Knight (No Excuse Needed) who provided the quinella in the two-year-old race. Lady Kipling consolidated her previous two placings from as many starts with an impressive win. The Knight, who was on debut from the John Bary stable, 'rattled home' late to claim second and will be very hard to beat next start.
