Young WS Sire In Hot Demand (April 8 2010)

Fast 'N' Famous again provided the star turn for WS on the second day of the Sydney Easter Sale when Hong Kong interests snapped up his son for $A170,000. Magus Equine signed for the colt out of Aulioni who is a half-sister to the Matamata farm-bred stakes winners Marju Snip (Gr 1 SAJC Australasian Oaks) and Unique Jewellery (Gr 2 Hong Kong Derby Trial).

During the opening session of the Inglis auction, the half-brother to Listed winner Keano by Fast 'N' Famous had made $A200,000 for WS to further enhance the reputation of their young resident stallion by Redoute's Choice.

A daughter of O'Reilly from the winning Royal Academy mare Classique Royale - a half-sister to Gr 3 Swettenham Stud Stakes winner Apple Danish - left the sale ring on day two with a $A135,000 price tag. Victorian trainer Andrew Noblet was the successful bidder.

Graeme Rogerson had the final say at $A140,000 for a grey Pins colt from Gr 1 performer Danex while Anthony Cummings went to $A80,000 for a son of Savabeel out of the Gr 1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas runner-up Ambitious. Another colt by the Cox Plate winner from the Gr 3 Frances Tressady Stakes winner Breezy was secured by Inglis, as agent, for $A50,000.
