Waikato Concludes Karaka In Style (February 5 2010)

Waikato Stud concluded the 2010 Karaka Sale in style when their Pins colt from Hideaway was knocked down to agent Guy Mulcaster for $130,000. The attractive bay was a full brother to Maple Star, an impressive debutant winner in Singapore a fortnight ago.

Danny O'Brien has enjoyed huge success with WS graduates and the leading Melbourne trainer went to $60,000 for a daughter of first-season sire Fast 'N' Famous. The grey filly is a half-sister to Listed SAJC St Leger winner Thousand Veils with their dam the Gr 3 performed Success Express mare Forever Dancing.

A Scaredee Cat colt was WS's third top-seller when he made $47,000 to the bid of Hawkes Racing. He is a son of the multiple winner Go Our Dana who is a half-sister to stakes performer Pinmdown from the Gr 1 family of Imperial Angel (NZ 1000 Guineas).

The 'Breeders Of the Decade' completed the sale selling 60 of the 66 yearlings they offered with the top price being $350,000 for the Pins colt from Saucy, brought by the Hong Kong Jockey Club..
