Savabeel Filly Group 1 Bound (March
2 2010)
She gave the sire a massive start to his career when
landing a remarkable debut win in March 2009’s
Gr.3 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (2YOF, 1200m)
and on Friday, My Emotion (NZ) gave
the said sire Savabeel even more reason
for excitement.
Igniting a Gr.1 tilt at the Australasian Oaks
at Morphettville on March 20, My Emotion
(NZ) raced home for a comfortable win in the
Gr.2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (3YOF, 1600m)
in Victoria, Australia.
Trained by Michael Kent, the 3YO Savabeel filly was
piloted to victory by Craig Williams, who put to her
into competitive reckoning with a forward move around
the field at the 800m.
Ready to pounce on the leaders turning in, My
Emotion (NZ) proved too classy, ultimately
pulling away for a ¾ of a length win (1600m time
of 1:36.46).
From the Waikato Stud’s sire’s first crop
to race, My Emotion (NZ) is one of
three stakes winners for Savabeel,
with the other two being Queen Sabeel (NZ) and
Warrentherooster (NZ).
Bred by Ramsey Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, My Emotion
(NZ) is out of the Rory’s Jester mare
Midnight Rock, the producer of one
winner from one to race.
Purchased for A$230,000 as a yearling by Dermot Farrington,
My Emotion’s 3 wins and one placing
from 7 outings have returned a smart A$274,950 for owners
RR Jamieson and Mrs JJ Wood.
