2010)
Pins four-year-old Forest Star struck at Sha Tin last
night to open his winning account for the season. The
Tony Cruz-trained gelding was successful over 1200 metres
in the hands of leading rider Matthew Chadwick.
A two-time winner, Forest Star was bred and sold by
WS and realised $130,000 to the bid of the Hong Kong
Jockey Club during the 2007 Premier Sale session at
Karaka. He is a half brother to the Listed New Zealand
St Leger winner Ritzy Lady with their dam the winning
Centaine mare Ever Clever.
South African Group winners Hancock Park (Gr 3 Fillies'
Classic) and Park Lane (Fillies' Championship Stakes)
add an international touch to the family while Clever
Zoe (Listed Debutante Stakes, 2nd Gr 1 Lightning Stakes)
and Dual Hemisphere (Hill Smith Stakes) have added black-type
success in Australia. On the home front, Playful Fingers
was the two-time Listed winner of the Champagne and
Waikato Stud Stakes.
