Pins' Golden Run Continues In Singapore
(February 17 2010)
Pins currently leads the Singapore Sires' Premiership
and he was credited with another significant success
yesterday when his red-hot son Goldschatz won the Gr
3 Fortune Bowl. The six-year-old continued his immaculate
run of form with victory in feature event at Kranji.
"I'm very proud of him. It's a hard task to do
what he has done - win fives races in a row, especially
being a stayer," expatriate New Zealand trainer
Stephen Gray said. Raced by Dubai-based owner Stephan
Herzog, Goldschatz has won more than $600,000 with seven
wins and 12 placings from 27 appearances.
Gray said he would now be giving serious consideration
to starts in the Gr 2 Queen Elizabeth II Cup and the
Gr 1 Singapore Airlines International Cup. Both events
are run over 2000 metres - a distance Goldschatz has
tackled four times for two wins and a placing.
He is out of the winning mare Centri Belle and is yet
another successful product of the Pins-Centaine cross,
that has realised 15 percent stakes-winners to runners,
including WS's own Legs (Gr 1 NZ Oaks and Kelt Capital
Stakes).
