Scaredee Cat Pounces With A Double (July 12 2010)

Scaredee Cat posted his second winner in a week when his promising daughter Repertoire opened her account on her home track at Awapuni on Saturday. The three-year-old's lack of experience was evident in the straight when she raced greenly but still proved superior to her older opposition.

Repertoire is trained by her part-owner Gary Vile and was making her third appearance and first following a seven-month break. She is out of the Jetball mare Jet Lee who won twice in a brief racing career and is a grand-daughter of the former top-class performer Chantal.

Repertoire's triumph followed the success of Cangowest, another daughter of the WS sire who broke her maiden at her third start. She overcame an awkward start to record a dominant 1200 metre victory at the Waimate meeting.

Prepared at Riccarton by Shane Marr, Cangowest is out of the Kinjite mare Lei Lark and is a half-sister to the O'Reilly pair of Rousing Snow and Olei. Their dam is a grand-daughter of the five-time Gr 1 winner Leilani (Caulfield Cup, Australian Cup, AJC Oaks, Mackinnon Stakes, Toorak Handicap).
