Presto Powers Home At Sha Tin (January 11 2010)

WS-bred and sold Presto furthered his Hong Kong record at Sha Tin last night when he was successful over 1400 metres. Trained by John Size and ridden by champion jockey Douglas Whyte, the six-year-old has five wins and nine placings from his 25 starts and earned more than NZ$720,000.

By former stud resident Danasinga, Presto was bought from WS's 2005 Premier Sale draft at Karaka in 2006 for $60,000. He is out of the stakes-winning mare Rampage Queen, who was also Gr 1 placed in the New Zealand Oaks, from the family of Gr 1 winners Eva Grace (Avondale Cup) and Deebee Belle (New Zealand Stakes).

The feared combination of Size and Whyte had earlier struck at the meeting with Pins' promising son National Treasure. The three-year-old had placed in both his previous starts before breaking his maiden over 1400 metres last night.
